Jeff Babineau died on Dec. 9 at his home in Oviedo, Florida. He was 62. There have been numerous tributes to the past president of the GWAA, who was also the secretary of the organization.

“Jeff cared deeply about golf journalism and about the GWAA,” said GWAA president Gary D’Amato. “He covered more than 100 majors and 12 Ryder Cups and wrote eloquently about them, but more importantly, he was a caring friend.
“We are going to miss him deeply. I encourage you to keep Jeff’s family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
Lieutenant Col. Dan Rooney and the Folds of Honor, where Babineau served on the board for 13 years, has organized a way to help support the Babineau family during this difficult time.
